Getting Started
Creating an Account
To join Linkedy, visit our registration page and fill out the application form. You'll need to provide your company name, email, website URLs, and estimated monthly traffic. After email verification, our team will review your application.
Application Review Process
Applications are typically reviewed within 24-48 hours. We manually review each application to ensure quality publishers. You'll receive an email notification once your application is approved or if we need additional information.
Adding Your First Website
Once approved, go to your profile page to add websites. You'll need to provide the website URL, name, and choose how you want to share articles (automatic via RSS or manual selection). Upload a logo for better visibility in the network.
Verifying Website Ownership
After adding a website, you'll receive a unique widget code. Add this code to your website where you want the widget to appear. Then click "Verify" in your profile. We'll check that the code is present on your site to confirm ownership.
Widget Setup
Installing the Widget
Copy the widget code from your profile and paste it into your website's HTML where you want the widget to appear. Common placements include:
- Below article content (recommended)
- In the sidebar
- In the footer
- On a custom "Recommended Reading" page
The widget loads asynchronously and won't slow down your page load.
WordPress Installation
For WordPress sites, you can add the widget code in several ways:
- Use a Custom HTML widget in your sidebar
- Add to your theme's footer.php or single.php template
- Use a plugin like "Insert Headers and Footers"
- Add via your theme's customizer if it supports custom code
Widget Appearance
The widget automatically matches your site's style and is fully responsive. It displays as a grid of article cards with images and titles. The number of articles shown adapts based on available space and device type.
Network & Partners
Finding Partners
Browse available publishers on the Network page. Look for sites in your niche or with complementary content. Send link requests to publishers you want to partner with. They'll receive a notification and can accept or decline.
Accepting Link Requests
When you receive a link request, review the publisher's website to ensure it's a good fit for your audience. Once you accept, you'll start exchanging traffic automatically. You can block or disconnect from any partner at any time.
Balanced Exchange
Our algorithm ensures fair exchange by displaying more articles from partners who are owed traffic. If you've sent 100 visitors to a partner but only received 50 back, their articles will appear more frequently in your widget until the balance equalizes.
Credits & Traffic
Understanding Credits
Credits are simple: 1 click sent = 1 credit earned, 1 visitor received = 1 credit spent. Your credit balance shows the difference between traffic sent and received. A positive balance means you're owed traffic. A negative balance means you owe traffic (which is normal and okay).
Viewing Statistics
The Stats page shows detailed analytics including:
- Credit balance and history
- Traffic sent and received per partner
- Widget views and click-through rate
- Visitor quality metrics (bounce rate, pages/session, duration)
- Device, browser, and OS breakdown
- Daily, weekly, and monthly trends
Traffic Quality
Not all clicks count as credits. We validate every click to filter out:
- Bots and automated traffic
- Clicks from outdated/fake browsers
- Traffic from data centers
- Headless browsers and emulators
- Invalid screen sizes (0x0, 1x1)
Only real human visitors count toward credits.
Troubleshooting
Widget Not Displaying
If the widget isn't showing on your site:
- Verify the code is correctly placed in your HTML
- Check browser console for JavaScript errors
- Ensure your website status is "Approved"
- Confirm you have active partner links
- Check that your partners have articles available
Not Receiving Traffic
If you're not receiving traffic back:
- Ensure your articles are being shared (check your website settings)
- Verify you have a positive credit balance or are owed traffic
- Check that your website and articles are active
- Make sure your partners have the widget installed
- Give it time - traffic distribution is balanced over time
Invalid Traffic
If you're seeing high invalid traffic rates:
- This is normal - we filter out bots automatically
- Check your traffic sources for quality
- Review browser and device statistics
- Only valid traffic counts toward credits
